AWESOME
For many, watching the movie "Ben-Hur" has become an Easter tradition. The 1959 blockbuster, starring Charlton Heston, made history with a record 11 Academy Awards.
Now, the 1925 silent version is making a comeback. But what many may not know is that Hollywood didn't create this classic story.
The idea came from the best-selling novel, Ben-Hur: A Tale of the Christ, published in 1880. The book tells the story of a life-altering encounter between a first century Jewish prince and Jesus of Nazareth.

As a teen I attempted to read the book, but found it monotonous. I'll try again.
Great move Good to see remake Charlton Heston RIP,,,, sadly missed,,,
The 1925 silent version of "Ben-Hur" is one of my favorite movies.
59 ben-hur was the most beautiful movie experience I ever had'
they asked "how could a God allow a war like this" because man has free moral choice and we chose to not listen to God's word and have wars instead that is why. this is not heaven. people always want to say why won't God stop this? because he does not go against our moral will and sadly our moral free will will be the downfall of so many who suppress the truth and seek to please self instead of their creator.
is this man who wantd proof that Jesus did not raised from dead but he got problem whn he finished 4 chapter then he under4tood that he is going wrong way ? is that person
I had the privilege of translating this novel in Persian, my mother tongue, and also made it as a radio drama for a Christian radio broadcasting in Persian, using the original soundtrack (2CD set). While translating and adjusting, I had most of the times tears in my eyes. This novel and its adaptation for movie (1959 version) shaped my character and my faith since I was only 7.
What a beautiful testimony. Definitely gonna buy a copy and check it out. Can't believe I've never heard about it.
They failed to mention that Wallace was governor of the New Mexico territory while writing Ben Hur and he was dealing with a pesky outlaw named Billy The Kid …
The 1959 version and the 1925 version are both great. Forget the 2016 version. Even Morgan Freeman couldn't defuse that box office bomb. I haven't read the novel yet, but I would like to some day.
Lew Wallace wrote the greatest and most compelling story in the history of literature,
Something truly compelled the author to write this story, especially during the Civil War….a story of faith, love, strength, greed, power.
outside of the Bible, I found the story of Christ's birth in Ben-hur to be the very best… an amazing book.
No
He also didn't pardon Billy the. Kid
