On Oct. 23, 2015, BJC Executive Director Brent Walker joined a diverse group of religious leaders to call on public officials – and all Americans – to stand up for religious freedom and against harassment and violence based on religion. At an event at the Washington National Cathedral, Walker spoke about the importance of modeling religious liberty for the world. “I believe religious liberty is a gift from God and that governments should seek neither to advance nor inhibit religious choices,” Walker said at a press conference. “Individual citizens and religious bodies should exercise their faith responsibly and fully respect the religious beliefs of their neighbors.”
