Customer Toya Liles took a video of Jeremiah Murrill, 20, taking her order car-side. Despite the chilly day, the warmth flowed from Murrill, who sported a thick winter hat and bright red bow-tie.
He complimented them for their fantastic ordering and choices.
“You are only one swipe away from having an awesome lunch meal,” Murrill said in the viral video. “It will be our pleasure to serve you at the drive-thru window after two more things — a fist bump for each of you. You guys are awesome! Thanks so much for choosing Chick-fil-A.”
The video received 190,000 views in two weeks and garnered many praises from Facebook users.
“As a Chic-fil-A Owner, can you ensure this young man is forwarded to corporate for his outstanding customer service! This young man works at the Chic-fil-A on Oleander Dr in Wilmington. The comments are AMAZING!”
Another follower said that no matter what job you do, do it well, and you will succeed.
“Your actions, your behavior, or the way you interact with people matters,” Murrill told WWAYTV3, a local television station. “It can transform a day. “Seeing these lives transform just by talking with them, taking their orders, and being kind and nice,” he said. “It’s awesome.”
Murrill said he serves a lot of guests and tries to remember each and every name.
“That’s just a personal thing for me,” he said with humility.
Philippians 2:1-30 also instructed us to love and to encourage others.
“So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus.”
All you need is kindness like Murrill, and it sure goes a long way regardless of work. Next time when you’re ordering food at the drive-thu, offer encouagment and thoughtfulness. It can make someone’s day a little brighter.
